Quick reminder on some rules:
For all co-ed 6s - two female/non-binary players must be on the court at all times.
Skilled Players
A skilled player is defined as someone who has played A level in any co-ed division (quads or sixes) at any point in the last three seasons (Fall 2025, Winter 2026, Summer 2026) and/or during the current season. Players may be deemed "skilled" at the discretion of the board, even if they did not play A level league (for example, someone new to the area).
Sixes:
BB level - no more than 4 "skilled" players on the court at one time
B level - no more than 2 "skilled" players on the court at one time
C level - no more than 1 "skilled" player on the court at one time
Quads:
Womens B - no more than 2 "skilled" players on the court at one time
Mens B - no more than 2 "skilled" players on the court at one time
Substitutions
-Players who are on a roster in a specific division may NOT sub for another team in the same division during playoffs, even if their team has been eliminated. No exceptions.
-A player must sub on your team 3 times during the season to be considered "on your roster" and eligible for playoffs. Approval is not needed by the other team in this scenario.
-If you do not have an eligible sub (subbed 3+ times during the season) and need a sub during playoffs, you must find someone who is not on another roster in the same division and who is of equal or lesser skill level than the person they are subbing for. Team captains should get approval of the sub from the opposing team at least one day prior to the match.
-Once a player has subbed during playoffs, they may not sub for any other team in that same division for the remainder of the season.
Men's Quads - only men may sub in men's league. No exceptions.
Double Contact (Indoor)
-Doubles are never allowed on the third contact/ when sending the ball over the net. This applies to all divisions.
-You should never be doubling the ball while setting (second contact) during a match, however they will not be called during B or C league.
-Doubles should be called strictly in A and BB leagues. This is a self-call during the season, so please hold yourself and your teammates accountable. During playoffs, if you have a ref they WILL be calling doubles.
Ghost Rule
If you find yourself short a player and need to play with 5 instead of 6, you must play with a "ghost." The ghost must follow the true rotation, which means that for three rotations, you will only have two players in the front row. When your ghost goes back to serve, it is automatically the other teams point and turn to serve.
In 6s, you must have at least four players on the court at all times. If you play with four, you will have two ghosts on the court.
Please reach out to the board with questions. Volley volley!
